I try to get other pictures, but the Squirrels are all that I can find just now. Here is a little story about a feisty, hungry Red Squirrel, just after a fresh snow covered all the seeds that the birds dropped.

I know that there were some seeds somewhere around here

Oh, there they are, and he got to them first

Maybe if I just sneak up there, I can get some for myself.

Just a little closer, and ----

Yieppps, I've been spotted, better get out of here.

Maybe if I go this way ---

Where is the nearest tree, maybe I can lose him there

Well that didn't work, I'll try down in the snow

Wow!, That was close, I think I'll rest here for a moment, and then ----

OH WOW!! What a great series of photographs Tom. Now I can see exactly why red squirrels are on the decline and those grey thugs are taking over!!

I haven't seen any red squirrels yet, but the warm spell we're having today may wake up a few out of hibernation. They're such bold and vocal little critters, always cackling at me and my dogs when we get near. I hope they sleep a little longer in our neck of the woods.
