Well, I officially snapped this morning while waiting for the bus. Cold wind blowing, snow filling in the driveway once again, snow, ice. The banks down the side of the driveway are pure ice and cant be moved and the driveway keeps getting thinner. The garbage box is frozen in. The frost has heaved the house under the front door and now it won't lock. The ice in front of the wood shed makes it treacherous to walk and the doors are frozen shut. The furnace is burning fuel like no tomorrow. My vehicle needs time to warm up every time we go out and the uses gas which isn't cheap right now. The extended forecast is cold too, right to the 11th of March. I have had ENOUGH OF WINTER!!!!

When I use propane for the greenhouse at these temps it costs me over $20 a day just for that building. I am tired of this too.

I sure hope you folks warm up soon. I'd have snapped a long time ago.

I wish I could send some heat your way Netty. You know how I know a lot of people are having an extended winter? The visitors to GardenStew are no way near normal March levels.

    Come on spring everywhere!

I will not complain about the relatively cold winter we've had here in Central Texas. It is absolutely nothing to what y'all are going through. After 25 years in upstate NY with snow, ice, blizzards, and more snow, I do know how sturdy and strong a person has to be to survive winter without going bonkers.
I offer my sympathies, and the happy thought that spring will arrive, and probably this year!

Oh, Netty, wish I could send you some of the dry warmer weather we have way too much of.

I will be feeling like you come late May and probably won't get out of the horrible mind-snapping mood until October...as usual.

Netty, The dog came to my room last night, which NEVER happens...I told her to go to her place and lay back down. She laid down beside me on the floor, which also never happens, so I got up and went to take her outside and I thought "what the heck, why is it so cold in here?" The back door didn't latch and had gusted open from the wind and the floor was bone chilling cold. I can't believe Maya didn't go outside for a romp. Just goes to show how smart she is. Why go out in the dark and at 10f. for a run? I, too am so ready for Spring and it doesn't look loke it is coming any time soon. Cold for the next month in the fore cast. In the teens at night. Grrr. We are all getting kind of antsy and grouchy here.

It's only 38 degrees outside today. It's windy and the wind is out of the north. No sun today. Another gray, cloudy, gloomy day but no rain today.

However, "The Sun Will Come Out Tomorrow!"
