I love Thistles. Those are beautiful.
They are very prolific growing wild along roadsides all over the place and I would love to have some on the south side of the house just to fill up the unusable space there.

Those ARE kind of cool looking, aren't they? I have them popping up all over my yard and I hate them because they really HURT. I've been digging them out for 6 years and they are still returning. I'll gladly send them to you Toni ;)

I'll never look at thistles in quite the same way again. Your photographs are really eye-opening as I've not thought to spend time looking at thistle flowers before and we have plenty here in Scotland. Now I'll be out and about paying more attention and having my camera at the ready. :-D

I like thistles very, very much. You did a good job of photographing these.
I wish a big black and yellow bumble bee had come along while you were shooting.

We seen some HOT PINK ones at deer camp last year. They are kind of neat until they blow little seeds all over  It is a great photo ;)

Those are great shots. I love the color and the texture is intriguing. But I wouldn't like the 'ouch' they give!

Hi CC, I used a Sony a300 DSLR camera, and a 70-300 Macro lens.

Is your camera digital? The reason I ask is I would like to have a better camera than the one I have. Your photos are beautiful with such clarity I would like to have in my photos.

Maybe I should just learn how to use my camera properly. There are so many buttons and do-dads on mine which I know nothing about.

I used to have a manual Pentax 1000 and I loved it but now with the new technology and ease of uploading digital pictures on the computer, I like digital.

    Hi CC
Yes, it is digital, and you are right digital offers so many advantages. You can see the photo right after taking it, so if it doesn't turn out you can take another. fast down loading, better storage, and on and on. However they are techey.

Fabulous pics. I am another great fan of thistles and have some in the garden. Mean, but beautiful.
