Yes i am always rewarded,..but not in Heaven,..seeing i live so close to the Church i give them flowers for the Altar,..they come collect them when i have suitable blooms,..and then i am rewarded by being invited to dinners or a party,..and of course even then its my garden flowers,..roses of course mainly,..that are placed on the table,..of course nights like this i have to be careful,..no smutty jokes. What an honor to have your roses on the altar. And they sure add to that beautiful table. However... I'd gladly give up a rose or two for a slice of that scrumptious-looking pie!!!
Hmm... somehow the point of this topic escapes me. LOL Especially with the 6th and 7th pic. Give me cake!
It looks like a nice spread. It is also nice that your flowers are used in the church. This earthly reward isn't so bad, is it mate?
Philip--In the third photo are those priests twins? The altar flowers look beautiful. I too enjoy taking bouquets to friends whenever we are invited out. I attend a monthly bookclub meeting and take flowers during the warm months.
Hi Deanna, those parties and dinners are something not to be missed,..good intelligent interesting conversation,..with me being the outsider and therefore can get away with more than the others. ------------------------------------------------------ Hi Cheryl' that pie was a Strawberry Cheesecake,..with real strawberries and Strawberry Sauce,..mmmmmm it was scrumptious. I seldom attend Church,..but they don't mind that,..but the feedback i get from my supply of roses and flowers for altar and dinner tables,..gives an added bonus to gardening. ----------------------------------------------------- Hi Calin. ah,..the point of the topic is the use of the flowers in the garden and some of the rewards for growing same,..you could say bartering. ----------------------------------------------------- Hi Sjoerd, i sure enjoy those earthly rewards,..good food,..and i didn't have to cook it,..and the wine was good. ----------------------------------------------------- Hi Cayuga Morning, well spotted about those two being twins,..they are indeed,..one is a priest the other a brother,..both from New York,USA,..the other priest is from France,..so what a mix of accents. The two twin brothers surname is Nicholls,..sounds like Nickles,..so i said on one occasion that the church would never go broke,..as they at least would have two Nicholls,..to rub together,..groan,..groan. So you give your flowers to friends and take flowers to the bookclub meeting,..its very enjoyable and rewarding indeed,..good for you. ---------------------------------------------------- Hi Carolyn, the two ladies you see in the pictures do all the cooking,..not together i must add,..each do their own cooking depending on the house the dinner is in,..guests bring a bottle of wine when they know which wine goes down well. ----------------------------------------------------- Hi Jane, its a fantastic deal for me who has to cook for myself,..and the two ladies know how to set a good table,..so everything looks good,..the food is always mouth watering,..and the menu well debated between them,..i wish there were dinners more often, lol.
Mother Nature's bounty from your garden rewarding you with good company, conversation, food and drink - who could ask for more? :-D
The roses looked lovely on the table...now I'm HUNGRY. It is 9:30 in the morning here and all I can think of is cake, cookies, etc. Not a good thing with so many hours left in the day. I must leave you now and go get something to eat...perhaps a brownie, warmed a bit, with a big, big dollop of whipped cream. YUM.
