It was only 20 minutes earlier than I usually get up, so I went ahead and got up. I needed to stop by the post office and feed my aunt's cats this morning anyhow.
When I peeked out to the garden on my way out the door, I just had to stop and take a photo of the new bed.

Oh, my, that is a lovely new bed. Doesn't the garden look great in early morning light?
I forget if you have mentioned it before but did you build that fence? I love it.

Thanks Toni! And you're right... the colors all look brighter and fresher than in the evening.
Oh yes... don't you remember Hubby building that fence when I first staked my claim to that section of the yard?

Toni... yep same one... it was built in Oct. 2010.

Thanks Philip... yep... those Hibiscus are the first thing that catches your eye. Too bad the Pink Swirl one got a late start.
And that grass... it has to be mowed every week or else it looks like a hay meadow. :D

Cheryl your new bed looks fantastic. Who would have thought it could look so good when you first put up the fence? Your hard work has really paid off. :-D

Thank you Eileen. That fence was "supposed" to be my boundary.
Wonder if I'll get in trouble with "The Dragon" when he gets home in a few years? :D
I really had no intentions of expanding that area. It was just going to be the bird bath fountain. But then I planted a couple of things to keep anyone from mowing through there (so the grass clippings wouldn't clog the pump).
Then I was doing to much mowing/trimming around things and decided to just make it one big bed (sound familiar)? ;)

That bed looks fantastic! And the backdrop of the fence really sets it off. I loved seeing the before and after contrast. Good job!! :)

your hibiscus really does catch the eye first thing. I used to have 2 but sadly I think a ground mole must have gotten to them.

Looks really nice. Is the white hibiscus blue moon? I have 3 from the seed you sent me. No blooms yet.
