Just when we get rid of all of ours it lands on your garden Toni. It does look very pretty though. Keep warm.
That storm is heading north Toni. It will intensify as it crosses the Great Lakes and slam us in southern Ontario with another 38+cm of snow, as well as strong winds. I'm quite certain that tomorrow will be a 'snow day' for my kids. I am SO ready for spring!!
Eileen, I think the snow you tried to send me a couple of months ago finally showed up. Most of it seems to have melted along the way though. Netty, last night on the ABC national news they were showing the track of this storm heading your way and said it was going to be the worst one this winter. Stay warm
Toni, stay inside and stay warm! I had to go to the barn to feed the chickens and check on them (they are fine with the cold since they have a layer of "interior insulation (fat)". There was a layer of ice on the patio and I crunched all the way to the barn. The wind is the killer, though. It whistles and moans--ghastly sound! Later I'll have to go search for our hanging bird feeder which got blown off its shepherd's hook. Netty, wish you could duck this one, but it seems it is heading your way. Stay in and keep safe. Spring will come and we'll all be happy!
I had to go fill a feeder just now. I had put out new suet blocks yesterday but forgot the regular feeder until I saw a little puffed up sparrow trying to find something in it. Goodness gracious sakes alive, it is cold out there. Holding onto the fence while I crunched on top of the ice/snow frozen mix. We are getting more snow flurries now but the ice has moved on into Oklahoma.
I just checked with The Weather Network and found that there is currently a 'special alert' for my area - snow before the snowstorm Well, I guess this IS Canada and I should expect snow! I also found this weather warning:
And here we thought our football team, The Packers, coming down to Dallas for the superbowl would find nice warm weather, not the same stuff we left behind back in Green Bay. Tom
They should have been here a couple of days ago,, it would have been nice. Thats Texas weather for you.
Please send some of the 32 degree warmth this way. It's 15 degrees and still snowing. We are running out of places to put the snow. Jerry
Well, at least the sun is out here in central Texas, even though it's still cold as kraut (I wonder where that expression originated?). I just checked the thermometer and it's in the 20's. Heaven knows what it is when the wind chill is factored in, and I don't want to know! The weatherman has predicted warmer and nicer weather for the weekend, and for his sake and the sake of his progeny, I certainly hope so!
The sun keeps trying to come out and I keep telling it to go away and so far my magic is strong enough to keep the sun at bay. Our temp is 19 now, it's been holding there for a couple of hours, the wind chill is >1F, actually .8 degree, so it's not quite zero. There have been 5 neighborhood kids out playing football almost all day, with a couple of breaks for lunch and to warm up. I wonder if their parents know what frostbite looks like?
Its freezing rain outside now. This morning it took me 20 mins to scrape my windows and clear my wiper blades. After work (9 hours) took me and the bf about 15 mins to clear. Roads arent too bad, but theres a lot of slush/snow which makes it a little difficult to change lanes.
