Another new rose in bloom was grown from seed,..this rose has the appearance of a rose i already grow,..but roses from seed tend to be unlike the parent rose,..sometimes a brand new rose is grown,..i have two more grown from seed that are in bud,..knock on wood i get a new rose.

Very pretty both. I am glad the ice cream is fragrant.

Thanks Carolyn,..in my mind i always expect a white rose not to be fragrant,..but it is strong and i planted it just in front of my back door to get the full benefit of bloom and fragrance.

Both are gorgeous... but I super-like the coloring of the Ice Cream one. And look at the size!
Hmmm... ice cream. I think I'll have a small bowl of vanilla ice cream for my late-night snack!

Perfect!! It really is the colour of vanilla ice cream isn't it - and it's scented!! I love the delicate shade of the pink one too. Here's hoping you get the new rose you are looking for Philip.

    Hi Cheryl,
an apt name for that rose,..it does remind me of Ice Cream every time i look at it,..and you and Eileen got it right Vanilla Ice Cream.

    -----------------------------------------------------

    Hi Deanna,
it was the first time anyone thought to give me a present of a rose bush,..they would want to know just what rose bush to get,..but this friend looked at the pictures from my visit to the National Botanic Gardens,..and thought the picture of the rose "Ice Cream",..was a hoax,..he checked up on it and lo and behold appeared with it after i did a job for him where i wouldn't take payment.

    -----------------------------------------------------

    Hi Eileen,
as mentioned you hit the nail on the head saying Vanilla Ice Cream,..and the bonus is the scent and size,..as for the delicate pink rose,..i hope it remains that colour as its different from any of the others,..but as for getting a real NEW rose,..not looking good,..number two rose from seed is another pinkish,..still early to tell just what shade of pink it will turn out as,..number three rose from seed is in bud but no colour showing as yet.

The rose below is the first and only rose produced from the rose bush that was THRASHED by the Leaf Cutter Bee earlier in the season,..but i am pleased that the bush survived.
