We just bought an ice-cream maker. I'm wondering if we could substitute yogurt for the cream in recipes. Would we get "frozen yogurt"?

Can't imagine why not. Did your maker come with a recipe book?

No book. We got it at Goodwill for $5. Went online to get the instruction manual. Jay found an ice cream recipe site, but all the recipes seem to call for heavy cream. I just want to try a little something healthier. I will probably just try it, but thought I'd ask my friends first.

I use yoghurt a lot instead of heavy or double cream. It works really well and tastes fantastic. My favourites are lemon and lemon & lime. You can also add small amounts of chopped fruit - even yummier!! :-D
