Happy Birthday to you ..... And many many more to come. We eat cake and Klondikes for ours. Private partys mostly.
Well, the day was great. First, my wife was out of town at a scrapbooking retreat, but came home today. I cooked eggs for my daughter's breakfast, got her in a pretty dress, then we went to church for her choir practice, Sunday school for both of us, then Mass. When we got home, my wife was home & we had lunch. In the afternoon, we watched a movie, played bowling on my daughter's Wii, then watched a DVD of dinosaurs from Discovery Channel (my daughter is "into" paleontology at age 6) and then we sat down & made some home-made valentines. Next, it was my special birthday supper. I got the "special" plate made by my wife w/ daughter's hand print stained in the middle. We had creamy crock-pot chicken w/ a white wine sauce, green beans almondine and brown rice, followed by chocolate cake & vanilla ice cream from Blue Bell. Then I got a nice self-portrait by my daughter, which she made out of the Valentine glitter glue: sparkly hearts & glitter included, and a garden turtle made of metal w/ a votive candle holder in its belly for the back porch! Spoke to my nieces North of Dallas. The eldest guessed that George Washington was President when I was born. I pointed out, Eisenhower was in the White House in 1960. A nice way to start my 50th year on earth!!
Happy belated birthday, WTxDaddy, sounds like you had a good one. Can't wait to see some photos of your presents.
Many happy returns. A little late I am afraid. ALmost up to the magic half century. I hope you enjoyed your birthday it sounds like you had a great day with your wife and daughter.
