We spent 2 weeks at Hart State Park in Hartwell, Ga. That's in the northeast corner of the state. Just barely south of the mountains. Had a great time! Gas wasn't all that bad priced either, about the same as it has been here. Did everybody behave while I was gone?
Glad to have you back Capt. What did you get up to at the State Park? Where did you stay? Camping trip?
I have some pics but is there a free place I can upload to and then link? We have friends that have a 36 ft motorhome and we stayed with them. They volunteer as hosts for 2 months and get to camp for free because of it. So we stayed with them for free too. Did chip in and help with food though! It was kind of on the hot side while we were there. Mid 90's every day and into the 60's at night. About all we did was eat that good southern cooking and set around and gab. We hadn't seen them in 2 years. We are planning a road trip with them next summer for about a month, if gas prices aren't completly bonkers.
Sounded like great fun Capt. You have some very charitable friends. There is a topic we created previously called How to post pics . It should be what you need
Ok, lets see how this goes. Here is one pic of Lake Hartwell. It is located right on the state line of Georgia and South Carolina. The lake is huge, over 95,000 acres of water.
If any of you are American Baseball fans, here is a pic of the Ty Cobb Museum in Royston Georgia. he is famouse from the 20's, 30's and 40's baseball. Something I didn't know was that he was the very first person inducted into the baseball Hall of Fame. He was also the first player to endorse a product for compensation. Any guesses as to which product? It was Coca Cola in Atlanta, Georgia. That is where he made his millions. He started a small hospital in his home town of Royston in the early 50's and that has grown into the Cobb Health Care System in four counties in Georgia. That is today's history lesson. Here is a pic of the front of the museum.
There is a story behind these pictures. We were about 150 miles from home when my wife asked where I had put the camera. Well I hadn't put it anywhere! It was still on the shelf at home. Now why couldn't she have asked that question 149 1/2 miles sooner? So I used my friends camera, down loaded them onto his laptop and sized them, and then saved them to disc. Smart huh? I thought so! Some of the pics didn't turn out as his zoom was digital only and they came out blurred when you used the zoom feature.
