Hiya EJ, welcome back home from Spain. Hope you had a great time there.
One of the reasons I dread long vacations is that there is always so much to do when you get home, then you need another few days off to rest up.

    Looking forward to the pictures.

I hate all the washing that accumulates from holidays. I think they should make disposable clothing!! :p

I hope you're all well rested and relaxed after your Spanish break. I'm not waiting patiently to see your photographs. I'm desperate to see them and hear all about your holiday so get on with those chores girl. ;)

Well, a weeks holiday isn't really enough is it, but it did give us a week of sun, sea and sand with plenty of just relaxing watching the children play.

We were in a town called Moraira in the Costa Blanca region of eastern Spain, a lovely little port town home to the rich and gorgeous who park their amazing boats and eat paella at the waters edge. The beach was lovely, soft sand and palm trees. I haven't travelled anywhere particularly tropical so seeing all of the palm trees was wonderful. The sea in April is stil ffffffreezing, but the children didn't seem to mind and took full advantage leaving Mark and I to read and enjoy the sunshine.

We went exploring and I loved seeing all the orange groves with the trees dripping with different types of oranges, lemons and limes. Mark picked some one day but bleurg they were awful. A young spanish girl then tried to explain that they were ornamental rather than edible! Took me the whole afternoon to get rid of the taste!!

We drove to Valencia to go to a huge marine centre - a zoo if you like for fish and water mammals. I'm not a great lover of zoos and these sorts of places, but I do appreciate they do a lot for education and have breeding programs etc. It was an amazing place (http://www.valencia-cityguide.com/touri ... rafic.html) and we saw walrus, beluga wales, seals, sun fish, eels and a fab dolphin display. Valenica itself was a huge, quite industrial city and passing through the port, the children were very interested in the scantly clad ladies selling their wares !!!!

On Monday it was the fiesta for Saint Vincent Ferrers and the next local town had a huge celebration, and tomorrow they will have bull running through the streets! Eeek. From a more family point of view, the children all take lovely posies of flowers to the church to make offerings to the Saint, and they have parties and fireworks and a huge town meal. A real community event.

So there you have it - the weather was great, we have all come back with lovely tans even with the suncream, and we even had a rotten day weatherwise on the Sunday with a huge thunder storm, but that meant we stayed in, played board games and jenga, read our books and snuggled up together. It was a lovely week, just the 4 of us, just relaxing and letting the world pass us by.

I could say that the 5 hour delay to our flight spoilt things, but it so didn't. Alicante airport is lovely, lots of shops for Jessica and I to browse around, reasonably comfortable, and the time whizzed by. So now back to life as normal. Haven't yet been to the allotment as we only got in our house at 4am this morning (Wednesday), but if the garden is anything to go by, it is going to be a jungle!

Piccies to follow when I have resized them....well we did take over 400 you know!

Welcome back, EJ---Glad you had a great time and made it back safely.
Spain is such a wonderful vacation place. I lived in Spain for a year and have travelled there many times. The food and the customs suit me to a 'T'.

So...get all rested-up and get those piccies on here!
