Hallo! Im planting/planning a side garden filled with child friendly plants and was wondering if someone can help me out. Im looking for a small plant/bush that attracts Butterflies. It is going in a small garden with about 6 hours of sunlite (until I get a chance to cut tree limbs down) Im a zone 10, and I would like it to be a permanent fixture in her very kid friendly garden. Any suggestions Seed donation/trades are much appreiciated. I am a beginner gardener so Im not sure what I can offer seed wise but im more than willing to try anything!

How about one of the Ceanothus types?
Or one of the Buddleje sorts--they seem like an obvious choice. You can keep them small by proper pruning.

Lavender and thrift are also great choices as they attract butterflies and bees.

Lady bugs will arrive on their own if there is enough food available for them to eat. They feed on aphids such as greenfly.

Butterflies seem to love my Sedum "Autumn Joy" but they don't bloom until late summer.
