Hello my name is Janet and I live just outside of the Ottawa Carleton Region on the Quebec side of the Ottawa River, in Gatineau. I do landscape maintenance in the spring/summer/fall. I have been propagating seeds under florescent lights for many years and am going to try winter seeding this year also. Any tips? Janet

Hi Janet and a big welcome to the Stew :smt039 I would suggest starting a new topic about winter seeding so that your question does not get lost among all of the welcomes.

Why not add yourself to our member map if you want and there is a calendar to add your birthday and such ;)

    Welcome again!

Hello Pat, I am doing a whole bunch of seed trades and I will know more about what I am going to winter sow in about a month. I do have an extensive collection of annual and perennial seeds. I got a chart with hundreds of seeds that were winter sown and if they were successfully germinated or not. I need to know when do I sow these seeds? Do they need to be covered with a dome or such? I am hoping to cut out the hardening off work that truly is a labour of love. In and out everyday, gets very tiresome, especially when you have plants in the hundreds. I share my plants with friends. Any suggestions will be appreciated. Janet

Welcome to the Stew, Janet, :D glad you've joined us.
This is going to be my first year to try winter sowing too,[IMG]
I'm afraid that I'm not the scientific sort  ,
so I'll probably just charge at it all bass-ackwards and see what happens.

I took a peek at those links too, Pat, thanks for sharing them.
