Here I am spending the morning taking down my tree, and hating that my surroundings are so bleak. Yes . . . I am ready for something new here too!

I couldn't agree with you more...though up here in Vermont we will have snow on the ground until AT LEAST April....so I will have to wait patiently to see things growing outside...HOWEVER...in about 4 weeks I will be bringing out the inside greenhouse set up and start the heirloom seeds that Pepperdude sent in the early summer. I can't wait to see them growing all over my dining room table and then take over my porch when it is warm enough! :stew1:

Change is already happening here. All my spring bulbs are showing in the garden even although we have temperatures dropping to -5C. OK so they're only about two inches out of the ground but it's a welcome sight nonetheless. :-D

I am ready for change too...I am sick of driving and walking in the snow... I am kind of excited to see all my 189 bulbs come up in the side flower bed that I just planted.. Hopefully it will be quite a site for that small area..

I've just put in an order for spring veggies. No anticipation here at all. We're just about through with winter ones. Do you grow winter veg, toni?

There are some buds on the gardenia bushes and I'm thinking of digging up some ground and planting some lettuce. I just need to figure our how to protect it from the animals around here. I didn't want a big fence, just a cold frame but maybe I will need a space protected. I'll think about it some more. dooley

Christmas will still be with us for another week. I like to throw out the tree and pack up the decorations on the 13th day of Christmas, but my family won't have it, so this year we'll pack up on the 20th day of Christmas.

We've got winter outside now, finally, and I hope it stays like this for a few weeks. We haven't had much winter so far this season.

We got change now, yesterday had a high of 84 degF/29 deg C and today it probably won't get higher than the lower 40's or around 4 deg C. I am happy at least for today, then the temps go back up to around 70 :(

Cold cold cold here in Essex. But like Eileen, I am starting to see things peeking through the ground - hardy annuals are all perky and sure enough, bulbs are everywhere. Hopefully I will be able to spend some of tomorrow in my garden and I will have camera with me so will take some shots.
