I got the chimney and wood burner cleaned out this morning and the wood shed is full! And it's bee in the 80's F all this week! But today is the last of the warm weather, we have a cold front with rain coming in tomorrow.

Having a full wood shed is such a comforting feeling, congrats to you! It was over 100 F here today but rumor has it we may have rain this month! That's a big deal- the "rainy season" is in January. I am glad you are ready for the cold.

Sounds like you've got it sorted just in time, Capt. :D I can hear those logs burning now. Imagination is a wonderful thing.

Well just in time Capt. Today is the first day of winter!!! According to the old norse calendar that is. Ours is ready and has been drying since last fall. But we usually get a load of wood in Nov. just to be on the safe side. I love a fire in the winter! So cosy and warm.

I don't miss those chores since we went to natural gas but I can appreciate all the hard work you've done! ;) My husband has helped the old couple across the street with wood. We have another small load to haul over there. Nothin' prettier than a nice, tight woodpile :-D

Oh I would love an open fire in the lounge. So romantic sitting in front of it during those cold winter evenings. Mind you, I would be the one cutting the wood so maybe it is a good thing we have gas. Still...maybe I will swing by and sit by yours Capt.

I'm glad your woodstove is ready to go and you have lots of wood Capt. I'm still in denial that summer is over...

I know Captain it sure seems like it is still summer here. Only difference is the cool mornings and evenings. I am afraid we are going to be spoiled and when the cold weather comes, and it will, we will be in shock!
