Yesterday was a very stormy day here because I had to spend the day in College Station. It takes me over an hour to drive down there. Our neighbor very kindly offered to drive us yesterday. It was a good thing because about a half a dozen times we would have turned around and came home if I had been driving. It rained, it poured. We drove through rain where the wipers going full on couldn't clear the sheeting rain off of the windows. Combine that with the sheet lightning everywhere, the wind and the headlights of oncoming cars and you might get the right idea of why I would have turned around and came home. When we got there it was still very dark. Getting from the truck to the building, not all that far, got us soaking wet. Well, I was wet but dr and our friend didn't get so wet. Must be the weave of the fabric. Then, it was get stuck with a needle, set and wait. Get stuck with an iv needle, set and wait. Drink this large bottle of banana flavored chalk. Set and wait. finally I had the ct scan. Get injected with something nuclear and wait three hours. We went and got something to eat and window shopped at Academy, Gander Mountain and Sam's Club. Back to med center. Radiology is backed up. Wait another hour. Test took 45 minutes. Then, after 3 pm we could come home. Get home, no electricity. Waited a bit to see if it came back. Went into town for supper. I was too tired and stressed to cook anyway. Came home, lights are on. Called Wannabe and talked for an hour or two about this that and the other. Discussed our childhood, deceased family members, and what's going on there and here. Finally, hung up, checked the computer and went to bed way early. Slept right through the night. Feeling so much better today with the sun shining and no rain. Mind you, I don't dislike rain but in much smaller amounts at a time and not so much wind. I like to stay home when it's raining, too. dooley
You had a rotten day, but it was necessary to get those tests done. Now you can enjoy the sunshine, damp soil (isn't it wonderful to have damp)and think about what you are going to make for the Writers' Workshop sale.
Sounds like it was no fun at all, I'm glad it's over for you also. A good nights sleep and some sun shine goes a long way to improve how one feels. Keep good thoughts!
Gully washer days are the pits. So, you could call yesterday a washout. I do hope today is better. Jerry
Today was a better day. It got to 56 degs and the sun was shining. But, the electric was off from 3 pm to 6 pm because of yesterday's storm. They had to replace a pole at the end of our street. Most of the storm damage that I could see were downed trees. Probably because they were so dry that the wind just snapped them off. dooley
yesterday Sounds like a lousy day. I'm glad today was better. Today was/is rainy here for us, tomorrow is gonna get better, I hope.
I thought of you while I watched the news and they said how bad it was over in your area. So glad you're safe and there wasn't alot of damage.
I'm glad today is far better than what you had to endure yesterday. It must have been very stressful being in the car with such dreadful weather conditions.
Dooley, So glad the weather took a turn and got better on Thursday. Wed. sounded pretty ugly. We don't have any choice but to endure, either. What a bummer, huh? Do you live near Bastrop? I heard it was really bad there, too.
I hope all that water went into the ground instead of running off to somewhere else, then at least you got something good out of it. I'm so glad you got home whole and sound. I wish you some lovely, sunny days from now on.
