I had a chuckle with this posting, jewell. You had questions, but I found it very colourful and and charming there. You have quite a lot blooming and it is lovely.
I hoppe the rest comes through soon for you.

I could ask the same questions Jewell. Your garden, believe it or not, is still way ahead of mine here in Scotland. I do have daffodils flowering but my trees aren't even in leaf yet and everything is about a month behind their usual flowering times. My bleeding heart is only about a foot high - no flowers. My forsythia is only now beginning to produce the first few blooms but, as you say, I guess I wiil survive as well. Just bring on the bees and butterflies please.

Sjoerd, And eileen, I am probably quite spoiled with all that has bloomed and finished (Daffs, forsythia) but like a small child I see what is coming and want it NOW.

Eileen be sure and post photos. I feel like I missed the Daffs and forsythia with work and all.

CM, thanks for the compliment. I can't wait to post when things are really blooming. Maybe I'll even take pics with a real camera and not the tablet.

KK, there is no better quote this time of year.

Jerry, I am a little confused on first bloom date. How do you recognize when a plant is blooming? Like my old fashioned bleeding hearts have had the hearts dangling for weeks, but are just now opening. Do I count when they just begin to form or now when they are in full bloom? :?: I could say this for almost all of my flowers, and then I seem to miss when they start the little forming stage and the flowers are gone. Maybe I am just over thinking it? Work this time of year warps my brain :D :D I need more sunshine :stew2:

Your yard is so colorful Jewell! Most of my Hosta's aren't even showing yet, no blooms with the exception of Lungwort right now. Things are so slow here!

Jewell, We just started seeing tulips bloom this week. The apple trees aren't even close to blooming, the dandelions just popped out on Friday, so I put all my honey supers on the hives yesterday...the hostas are just points in the flowerbed, the only thing blooming with gusto here seems to be the nasty smelling bitter cress and henbit. oh yeah and the bradford calary pears, yuck! nothing else much to be seen. The grass is green and the trees have a tint of green to them as the leaves are starting to pop out. It seems to be a really late spring for all of us.

I know how you feel. I get so inpatient in early spring... and buy and plant things too early. I vowed that next year I would wait until the "right" time to start shopping/planting. (who wants to bet that I'll not remember making this promise?) :-D
I enjoyed your photos... now I can't wait to see them all in full bloom!
