    Oh, how I wish I would of had time to get my big lens on the camera....the birds for not quite half an hour just kept coming and I hated to leave but I had a commitment...Hopefully they will all be here again ...

    Thank you for your kind words...

    I have a roof over the tray feeder but what you don't see is that it has an attic (a shelf) where the birds or squirrels can go up into it for protection from the weather or predators. The opening is on the front and back and they do use it. The squirrels use it more than the birds to hide when someone is walking on the road, or from noisy cars or trucks and from the hawks. Many days I go out to put some food on the tray and I glance up and see them so I put it on the tray very slowly so I don't scare them. :)
