When my wife and I returned home from our Hawaii vacation it was by way of Dallas, Texas to visit with friends old and new. A side trip during our stay was an excursion to the new home of the Dallas Cowboys. At a cost of 1.2 Billion dollars Cowboy's Stadium is sure to drag up the value of the local real estate. Here is a look at their new stadium. http://www.gardenstew.com/plantstew/alb ... r_id=10953 Jerry
Yeah... that place is often referred here by the sportscasters as "overwhelmingly awesome". So... how did you all get a tour?
Our hosts, Brian and Pam treated us to the VIP tour. Tickets are available at the stadium or on-line. One of the interesting things we learned is that the sportscasters booth is not located on the 50 yard line but is nearer the end-zone. The reasoning, according to owner Jerry Jones, is that the seats on the 50 yard line are premium and why should the sportscasters, who get in for free, use up choice locations. So the sports booth is located toward the end-zone. Jerry
Yeah, if there is a way to put more money in his pocket Jerry Jones will find it. The TV screen hanging above the field that shows upclose video of the game is 160 feet long by 79 feet tall (thats 49 x 22 meters) But it's now the 2nd largest, Charlotte Motor Speedway has the largest one now. Also, on a side note....4 of the Cowboy Stadiums will fit inside the Texas Motor Speedway. We like things BIG here in Texas
