I have been having quite a bit of action at the feeders from the Orioles. I am not sure how long they will be here before they begin the journey back home. The Butterflys are around and I just happened to see this one flying around and then landing on my butterfly bush...

The House finches are enjoying the jam too and I noticed a few wasps ? around the jam and sugar water....

He heard a noise and is looking around to see where it came from...

Pictures are beautiful, as usual. I have enjoyed so many birds butterflies and bugs this Summer. Spent lots of time in the hammock this year.

Great photos for this afternoon Sherry. I have a question... did you ever have a bird visit your feeder with a beak not optimised to use it i.e. beak was too short or blunt?

Frank...Through the years I have only noticed one bird that could not eat its food and that was I think because it was attacked by something and its beak was damaged . I do notice the Orioles trying to drink from the Hummingbird feeders and the hole is too small compared to the Oriole feeder and they can't get anything out. I have a couple Orioles that actually pull the little flower shaped plug out from the hummingbird feeder to get at it, but I think it is still to small to get a drink from.

I have had the Downy woodpecker at the Oriole feeders too but I am not sure if he can get at some sugar water. Yesterday I even noticed a chickadee interested in the jelly feeder but he didn't eat. Even the robin had jumped up and was checking it out.

Frank...it was before 6 a.m. when I posted, not sure how to get the correct time in for Wisconsin. I hope I answered your question OK. Maybe if Kildale sees it see will have a better answer. I found the area to correct it but I am not sure which is right.
