I have just put the rub on the two pork shoulders that I'm going to smoke this weekend. I'm going to stuff a couple of chickens with chopped apples and onions, sprinkle some rub on them and grill/smoke those too. Kohlrabi/cabbage slaw, 'tater' salad, and green beans done up like wilted lettuce and onions. Of course there will be pie, and plentysix refreshing adult beverages. We will be hosting 10-14. How 'bout ya'll?
sounds awesome, fbg....around here, it's ribs, burgers, dogs, polish sausage, fresh & smoked, mac salad, potato salad, fruit salad, any salad actually! and...lets not forget all the fireworks...if i sit at the end of my yard, i get to see them in all directions! happy 4th of July!!!!!!
Our oldest daughter will be with a youth group in Austin next week, the two grandsons will be at Boy Scout Camp, youngest daughter has to work then is going to a party at a friends house and since it is too blasted hot to get out hubby and I will watch the fireworks displays on TV. Most of our neighbors are from another country so they won't be celebrating the 4th, but they don't need much of an excuse to have a party so it might be noisy. We will also be listening for any illegal fireworks being set off in the neighborhood and keeping an eye out for roof or lawn fires from them.
