Just wanted to let the US members know that you might want to check your local Big Lots store for roses.
One close to me has boxes and boxes of Hybrid Teas for $3 each. This store only have about 5 varities..two reds, a pink, a peachy/red color and a lilac color but there may be more in other stores.

I came home with a Mr. Lincoln, Oklahoma and Sterling Silver....aka dark red, bright red and lilac color.
Nice healthy looking plants that have started breaking dormancy with lots of pretty leaves.

@toni, Have you been able to buy any inexpensive climbing rose bushes?

Well since I posted that almost 10 years ago, I can say that the cheap roses were not all I had hoped for. The Mr. Lincoln lasted until about two years ago but the others were not well enough to make it.
