Its that time of year when the garden calls, the insects, bugs and spiders want to be photographed. Took the first one yesterday, a lacewing and not the usual Green one. Its a San Francisco Lacewing.

Now is the time here to see green lacewings emerging. After living underwater for around two years they break through their skins on the surface of the water to fly free. They live for just 24 hours and then die. The swallows, swifts and martins certainly enjoy the abundance of food while they last.
Thanks for letting us see your San Francisco Lacewing.

Only a day to fly, mate and enjoy the sun? I wonder if my pond has any.
