I was waiting for class out in front of the building this morning when I looked down and saw this Birch leaf with the most peculiar pattern on it. It was so interesting that I couldn't stop looking at it and so I took a picture of it. I had never seen a fall leaf with this kind of pattern before. I also picked it up and put it in my book-bag to press later when I got home. I just thought I would share this interesting leaf with all of my GS friends.

Reminds me of one of those inkblot tests.

Toni - The picture doesn't do the colors justice cause it was taken with a camera phone, but the colors are yellow with the blobs being a reddish/brown with green around the margins of the blobs.

Frank - Yea, it reminds me of that too...I see a pine cone. :p

Very interesting leaf indeed. :D I wonder what caused the pattern in the first place. Well spotted, you.

I see a pine cone too!! We have two birch trees in our garden and I've never seen a leaf pattern quite like the one in your photograph. I must check them more closely when I go out to rake them up.

Droopy - Thanks! I wonder what caused that kind of pattern too. I have never seen a leaf like it before.

Eileen - After I found this one, I looked around for a while trying to find any others that might have interesting patterns on them, but I couldn't find any. I must have looked kind of funny wandering around looking through leaves now that I think about it. :D

Sjoerd - Exactly, I am always surprised at what nature can come up with.
