Photographed some interesting marine stuff today. Four new ones that I have not had earlier. I have seen these crabs on other trips but this one looks really strange, a Decorator crab, Oregonia gracilis.

I've only seen these crabs on wildlife programmes before. They attach various anemones and coral polyps to their exoskeletons. What a great way to disguise yourself whilst hunting out your prey.

I agree with Deanna, here. What an ugly little creature. I think it needs to hire a new decorator.

I wouldn't have known it was a crab if you hadn't told us. Guess his disguise works! :-D

Thank you all for your comments. They are strange how they cover themselves with so much stuff.
