The Sibirian Irises are blooming now, and they're ever so pretty. At least I think so:

The Tree Peony bloom has developed too:

    This is an Iris chrysographes:

My husband's Penstemon. He whined and whimpered and wanted to bring it home, so we let him:

And our newest, little hosta. It's so cute:

The time around mid-summer is rather boring, bloom wise here, so I'm enjoying the few we've got.

That is an interesting array of irides.
I especially liked the white one with a vague hint of purplishblue (the first one).
The tree Peony is a very unusual colour.
And finally....the Penstamon that your man came home with-- Do you recall the name of that? I just got a new one myself today and it was also purple.
Congratulations all round on the very lovely flowers.

Thank you Sjoerd, and sorry, but it didn't have a name. It's from Anne-Lise, and she might remember if I remember to ask her. :D

Lovely blooms Droopy. My Siberian Iris's are blooming now too. I love the Iris chrysographes, it's such a lovely shade. I bought a new Penstemon the other day too :)
So you finally got your Mouse Ears Hosta, that's great!

Oh I really like that white iris Droopy. It's one of the colours I haven't managed to find here yet. Most of them seem to be the usual purple or yellow for some reason.

Ian sounds just like my husband!! "He whined and whimpered and wanted to bring it home" - yep that's what he does too when he wants a plant for the garden. I actually let him buy himself a rhubarb a few weeks ago would you believe? :D

Hehe, a rhubarb? Well, if he knows how to make rhubarb soup or desserts, why not?
