I have been waiting for this one particular iris to flowers since it was given to me two seasons ago (rhizome only, no leaves) All I knew about it was that it was dark purple. There it was blooming this morning!

There are two more buds coming too. I really, really like it a lot and can't wait for it to multiply! :D

OH, that is gorgeous! Your iris certainly looks very healthy, and will undoubtedly multiply quickly. Aren't iris a lovely addition to the garden?

BEEUTIFUL :sete_011: :sete_011: Don't you just love iris? I remember Mom & Grandma having them when I was a kid and I didn't care for them a whole lot :-? Now I love them and appreciate them for their hardiness and low maintenance. Plus the fact that you can get them in a gazillion colors :p

Beautiful! I have the lighter shade of purple which is very nice. I'm going to have to start dividing it up cause it's starting to overtake the area.

Thank you all for the very nice compliments!

I wasn't sure what it was at first because it almost looked black at a distance.I love Iris plants too, so many wonderful colors and shapes to choose from, it's almost head spinning!
Yep, a whole bunch more of this purple one would sure be icing on the cake all growing on the hill on the side of the house. Hope they spread really fast :stew2:
