Is a Bleeding Heart a bulb or root mass or what? Where I have mine planted, against a wood retaining wall, needs to be moved for about a month or two. I am having the retaining wall taken down and a stone one installed. Then the BH will go back in. Thanks in advance.

They're a lot like Paeonia roots. If your plant is very old, they will be thick and long. Good luck with moving them.

How many are we talking about? A few could be put in pots for a couple of months. I think it might not be good to put them in the ground and let them just start settling in and then move them again. Will you have frost before you get them back into the ground. You can still put them in the ground in fall but they might start growing and freeze. I think if they were mine I might dig them up and store them in some dirt in a safe place and replant them in spring. But, I'm not a garden expert so you might want more than my opinion. dooley

I moved mine when it was pretty large successfully. Yup a big gangle of roots.

I will need to move it from it's spot while the construction is going on. Maybe a month in all, then it will go back in when it's done.

Moving plant is kinda tricky. u need to ensure that its new place have the same environmental conditions. Some say one should not water the plant at the time when it was shifted.
