Is my Butterfly sitting on Astilbe

    Hope the title is ok can it be confirmed that the shrub is Astilbe please :-?

    I think maybe its sedum. A beautiful one at that ;)

    That appears to be a Sedum 'Autumn Joy'

    Not astilbe. Sedum, maybe 'Autumn Joy' but it doesn't look like the one I have so perhaps not.

    What a lovely photo! I really like the bold colour of your Autumn Joy, and then that orange-brown butterfly in the middle of it. :D

    The butterfly is a Fritillary, I think.

    The butterfly is an Eastern Comma Butterfly - Polygonia comma
    I have many in my yard every summer.
