I suspect that your thyme plant is dead. The green leaves are not any type of tyme plant leaf that I have ever seen. I have grown what you are calling "commom thyme" from seed and in fact I have several different types of thyme around my patio. I don't know what the composition is of the soil in your pot there, but thyme likes dry, somewhat chalky and un-rich ground to live in. Too much watering will kill it, in my experience. My country is a moist one, to say the least, so tyme planted in the ground outside here struggles a bit to stay healthy. Those green leaves look like a weed that we get here. It produces a small yellow flower (if left too long) and will spread like crazy if not kept in check. Good luck with your plants there.

So sad to know that my common thyme is dead Maybe I will buy another one and just put it in a single pot and not mix it with other herbs The weather here is crazy these past few days.We have been experiencing rains and humidity. I fully agree with Sojerd and am sorry that your thyme did not make it I just planted some thyme recently and I planted them from those sold in the supermarket for cooking. After getting them I had them soaked in plain water for a day for them to perk up. The next day I just cut about 2cm from the bottom and plant them in a pot. I use compost and loose soil in the ration of 1:1. Loose soil is to ensure that the excess water can drain out easily and compost is to ensure there is enough moisture for it to stay healthy and grow. Sunlight about 3hours initially and morning sun is the best. I'll post a photo for you to see tomorrow.
I have thyme planted between rocks that border my sidewalks. It is very hot and dry there so the thyme thrives.
Those leaves that are coming up look like oxalis. If you have it growing in your yard and used some soil from there, you might have gotten it in the pot. Its a pretty border plant though and has pink or white blooms. Its what I border my trees with.

( photo / image / picture from KK Ng's Garden ) I plan to transfer some of them onto the ground and another pot when they get a little bigger Please try again, just buy those cuttings for cooking and just plant them which I am sure will grow especially it is summer now.
