That plant reminds me of a Dahlia. It's very pretty, such bright yellow colour. :D

The leaves and flowers don't look much like a cranesbill to me Petunia but they are very pretty. :stew2:

I have that bloom too Petunia! Only I'm not sure exactly what it is! Could it be Rudbeckia Laciniata "Goldquelle" or Helianthus multiflorus "Soleil d'Or" ?

How tall is it?? My mom had something similar called Goldenrod that must have been 4 or 5 feet tall!

I have a cranesbill geranium in my raised bed. I had no idea it would become so invasive!!

I'd have to say that the flowers make me think of a dahlia.
The leaves may not be 'typical' (they look a bit peony-like) dahlia leaves, but I think that I have seen a plant with leaves like that before.

Definately not a geranium. Chrysanth maybe? Not what I would think as golden rod either.

It looks like a Marygold to me, Your cransbill geranium is really a nice looking flower. All we ever have around here are plain red or pink geranium, sometimes white. Have you tried to keep one through the winter?

This plant stands roughly about 2-3 ft high out of the soil. Its not like any marigold I've ever seen. Maybe I have a species of two plants in one.

I believe thats a dahlia. If you dig up the corm after it dies back, you can replant it next yr.

Thanks dor everyone's help. I went over my friends house today and what was in her font yard but this same flower. More then likely I even got this one from her. I asked her about it and she said her m-in-l said they call it 'GOLDEN GLOW'. I looked this up (perenial flowers.com or heritage perenial flowers) and sure enough its the same flower. Mystery sloved. But I thank everyone for helping.

You solved MY mystery too Petunia! I guess I wasn't too far off when I guessed Rudbeckia Laciniata "Goldquelle". Golden Glow's real name is Rudbeckia Laciniata 'Hortensia'.
