Is this a Penstemon?

    Penstemon? ( photo / image / picture from cherylad's Garden )



    I call this plant a "firecracker" because when the flowers first open, it reminds me of a firecracker that just exploded. I found it growing in my Mom's Lily bed. The flowers are only about 1 inch long. The plant grows up to about 2 foot. Is it in the Penstemon family?

    No, its not a Penstemon. It looks like a lily, not sure what kind though.

    I totally agree with toni on the Crocosmia bit, but I don't think it's "Lucifer" since he's very red. Yours looks more orange.

    I just did a little more research and there is a variety called "Orange Lucifer"
