Yes, mine is white. It grows wild here and I didn't plant mine. It grew next to the rose hedge and looked good there so I let it be. It comes up every year. The Indians here use it for ceremonies. They have superstitions about it. You should never walk through it's shadow. Now, I even walk around the shadow when I encounter them. I don't even know why. I wonder what happens if you do. dooley

Is it also known as Jimson Weed? I read that it is a native plant in Asia and it smells. The flower looks like Morning Glory. There are people who smoke the leaves to get an intoxicating effect. Is is highly dangerous, overdose is fatal.

Jimson Weed is Datura stramonium, different leaves and seed pod but it is related to the D. Metel. Either way, they are both toxic if taken in quantity and yep, they are used by some for the intoxicating effect. They have also been used in spiritual ceremonies in many cultures.

Pretty sure it is Datura Metel but everything I have found about it says it has seed pods that have little spikes and the seed pod on this one is smooth. The difference in the seed pods is what had me wondering if this is D. Metel or not.

I've never seen them without Spines Toni!
I just googled "spinless Datura" and got 14,900 hits. It seems there are several varieties that have smooth seed pods.

Wow, I've never seen this plant around here. The seed pot has an almost reptilian look to it. In the first picture, I thought the plant had big snails crawling on it. Songlim says it smells, is that a good or a bad smell?

I thought I would show you a picture of it taken in Penang by Kwan, a plant observer from Singapore. He has a great collection of plants and it is sorted by Common names or Scientific names. I read that it produces a nice fragrant. I notice the pod is slightly different from the one posted by Toni.
