It's come up where I've planted a lot of vine seeds...but it doesn't look right for anything I've planted. I'm guessing the birds planted it. It's really quite pretty...I've handled it with no ill effects, but then I've never had a poison ivy issue. I just don't want the kids to get it, just in case.

Thanks Toni, it was interesting to see how different it can look. I might leave it alone and see how it changes. I hate to rip out something nice, but at the same time I hate to have something that can cause such a nasty rash.

I don't think that is Poison Ivy Anna. It looks kind of like a Boston Ivy seedling.

It doesnt look like poison ivy to me. Im very allergic to it, so Ive made it a point to recognize it whenever possible (so I can stay the h*** away!)

    I found this site: http://www.poison-ivy.org/index.htm

:( I got rid of it.............

Well, I gave it new life behind the fence. I just couldn't take the chance. Boston Ivy would have been gorgeous, but I don't think it grows well here....I wonder if it could have been Virginia Creeper......that grows well. I can ID PO when it is larger and full grown...the curve of the leaves reminded me of poison ivy...the center one doesn't look right but the two side leaves kind of had the look....

TheBIP, that was a very good site!!!

Virginia Creeper has five leaves in a whirl, Poison Ivy has three. Not since taking a chance. Boston Ivy has leaves alternating along the stem, your picture didn't look like that.

TheBip, I have had a rash worse than any shown at that website. Both of my legs from the ankle to above the knees looked worse than that guys arms in the first photo.

It was the three leaves and the notches that got me wondering. I've seen virginia creeper from a distance, but not close up...I know the birds adore it.

I had poison ivy in two large pots on my balcony - did it EVER grow FAAAST!!! I put on my rubber gloves and I brought both pots downstairs in a heartbeat. Then I peeled off the gloves and threw them out.
