I wanted to start a different thread to show you all the amazing plant life that's here. I keep coming across all manner of amazing growing things and I thought you'd get a kick out of seeing them. I'll keep the other thread going of my various adventures, but didn't want to mix up the two. Most of what I'm going to post here I have no clue of, don't know names, but I wanted to share anyway, because I thought y'all would find it interesting.

This looks like a regular spider plant, but one on steroids!!!! It's as big as a tree, no kidding!

No clue what these are, but they're hanging from all the palm trees.

Colorful. These are all over the place too.

    I do recognize the hibiscus

Ignore the wrinkled old hand ;) I had to show you that comparison so that you'd see how enormous they grow here! I mean, each leaf is as big, or bigger than my whole hand!

Ronni your second picture is a date palm and, oh boy, I'd love to be there when the dates ripen!! Such wonderful plants and beautiful bright colours. I'm so glad you're taking such a great selection of photographs for us - keep them coming.

And there are chicken, chickens everywhere!!! They are indigenous to the island. And as common to Kauai as squirrels are to Nashville!

    The trees are amazing!!!

There are fantastic flower arrangements in the Hotel lobby area that they change out every couple three days. Just gorgeous.

Plantain or banana? Whichever it is, the ... flower?.... sure is weird!

And more sea turtles. They're just sitting there, right on the beach. They're HUGE!! One of their flippers is about twice the size of my foot, to give you some idea of their size!

This blows me away. This is a forest of trees. They grow to a certain size, and then the tops spread out and get flat! The tops of the trees are what you're seeing in the pic, and it makes a complete canopy. Even when it rains hard, I can stand under that kind of tree and not get wet. Amazing!

Love the turtle photos - they're beautiful creatures. Love 'em and wish I could see them on the beaches and laying eggs.
