The wire bird feeder was totally empty this morning. So when I went out and brought the days supply of firewood in, I also filled the feeder. By the time I got in the house and my coat etc. off, I looked out the front window and there were so many birds on it, you couldn't see the feeder. It has started to snow and they are saying 2 to 4 inches for us. But it is coming down real fine so we may not get that much. But it seems to be a dry snow and is really light and fluffy.

I can quite understand how your feeder 'disappeared' under the birds CK. I've been out four times a day feeding our birds and they still can't get enough. We've not had snow for the last two days but have had hail. Now everything is frozen solid and the poor things still can't find food for themselves.

There was a crowd of them under the feeder this afternon. We have gotten about 2 inches of snow so far today. I was out playing with the snow blower and I took this when I came in.

Nice group of birds there. It'sd a nice feeling when the birds inundate a newly filled feeder isn't it. ---You know that what you do for them is greatly appreciated.

Looks like some cardinals and cedar waxwings??? Great to see so many together at a time. I think you're getting more snow than we are here in Wisconsin, but it's coming down pretty good right now!

kaset, they are cardinals, male and female and sparrows, juncos or snowbirds and goldfinch in their winter colors. I get redheaded woodpeckers and downey woodpeckers too. Recently the blue jays have figured out how to land and get the seeds. We also have quite a few morning doves. This morning I counted 6 pairs of cardinals.

    16 pairs of Cardinals?? Wow!!
I had one pair a few years back, but haven't seen any since. I miss them... they were such an amazing color.
