We got the Christmas tree today. The kids are mad because it is small, but with Basil the Beagle and Nibbler and their running fits I didn't think a large tree would be wise. I have a small table that I can put this one on. It is about 4 ft tall, that's good enough. And since I only got about half of the 7 foot tree decorated last year I figured 4 ft. was big enough. I just finished cleaning out the corner and moving stuff, got the carpet vacumned and cleaned, but only in that corner and where the love seat goes. I used to do the whole living room, walls and carpet in 3 or 4 hours, now it takes 2 days. Getting old ain't no fun.
I'm sure the kids will love the tree once all the decorations are on it Sharon. When it's standing on a table it'll look taller anyways. You must let us see it once it's dressed.
You are way ahead of me Sharon. We thought about getting a tree over the weekend but the ones we saw were outrageous in price. We usually cut our own - much more economical. Looking forward to ssing pictures when it is decorated.
When Regina was little we would cut a pine from in back the house, sometimes we had to wire 2 together to get a fuller tree. They always looked fine when decorated. Like it or not it's what they get this year.
It will be beautiful, I'm sure! All I have so far is a little artificial one in a nook, but it is cheery - we'll get the "real" tree later on so it doesn't get too crunchy before Christmas arrives.
It will be beautiful Cajunbelle! You just reminded me of my Christmas nightmare of last year - the cat! She was often found up in the tree or playing with ornaments. She knocked the whole tree over about 7 times before I finally took it down! Anyone have any ideas how to keep the cat out of the tree?
Wow! I was working today and saw my first fully decorated Christmas tree in one of my clients living. Their's was artificial but it did look pretty in silver and blue! We definately need a photo gallery of our decorated Christmas trees!
I've had cats up the Christmas tree too. I just do like grandma did, tie a cord from the top of the tree to a nail permanently affixed where the wall meets the ceiling.
