That is cool. But I just don't like cherry tomatoes... can I choose one of the big ones? And to answer your question, since potato makes more shoots, we could graft an eggplant on one of them. One tomato, one eggplant and some ornamental Solanum?
I just got T&M's catalogue the other day and this was one of the plants they had for sale. We grow both potatoes and tomatoes but I doubt I'll be purchasing this plant. I'll wait to see what others think of it before I'm convinced that it's a good idea.
The key words to me were: "but the yield might be lower than individual tomato or potato plants". Due to my excessive shade in the garden, I struggle to get just a few tomatoes before frost strikes them down! Taxing the plant by trying to produce a double crop of sorts sounds to me like I wouldn't produce anything. But, if I had a garden with plenty of sun, I might be willing to try it if the price were right. Are you going to try it Jerry?
