A week or so ago, Mimi decided to try riding the bike. Last year she rode most every day, but since her accident she hadn't been able to at all. Well, she had trouble getting her leg over the cross bar, which had never happened before. She did figure out how to get on, by tipping the bike until the cross bar was lowered enough to get her lag over. The bike riding has been ok since, but she feels she would like to get back to the old way, which may or may not happen. Since the "I can't get my foot over the cross bar", incident she has had an additional worry. The "can I get my foot over the horse while mounting?" worry is now becoming an obsession. She frets about it when ever she thinks about the next time she will try to ride. Today turned out to be the day, and she admitted being very anxious as we were on the way to the barn. When the moment came, she ------------------- well, the pictures speak better than I can. Three cheers for Mimi!! She did very well. Sometimes worry is all for nothing and this was one of those times. dooley
And away she goes!!! Looks like she just needed a little lift from the step stool so the leg could just go on up. Congrats Mimi! Personally I think riding the horse would much more enjoyable than riding the bike
Hooray for Mimi! You just have to put your mind into it. I know she is glad that 'part' is over. And with the cooler weather coming, she should really enjoy riding.
I'm smiling now. I can feel her worry gnawing in my stomach, since I also would hate to miss out on the riding.
