Last year I started working at the Prescott Valley library on June 19. So, that means I have been there a whole year now. During that year, I shelved hundreds of books, moved books around the whole library several times and put them all in order by author and title. They were a terrible mess and everyone kept saying it was okay if they were just on the shelf by author. but, it wasn't okay with me and as I had time I put them in order by title under each author. That's how it is supposed to be done. I have finished each section now except the paperback fiction and that is a work in progress. I'm waiting for each section to be gone through to see if any need to be deleted. No sense in putting them in order if they are just going to be taken off the shelf. Now, I will get two raises, one is cost of living and one is for being there a year. Everyone gets a raise when they've been there a year. Now, year number two starts. It's easier with Gloria to help, but now we also have to do the checkin and checkout which I didn't have to do before they started making changes all around. Dooley
Gosh Dooley it doesn't seem like a whole year has passed already since you started work in the library. I'm sure all the customers are grateful for you sorting out the books properly for them - I know I would be. Great news on the two raises - just think more money for plants!!!!
It sounds like you did a great job. Keep up the good work and I am sure everyone appreciates what you have done. Now organizing books , filing is not my expertise. I can always find things, but it takes a while.... Sherry8
