My favorite time of the year ... Peony time!
And my favorite Peony from my Mom is so loaded with blooms that I had to tie it together!
It's been in the family since 1959. I am unsure of the cultivar, so if anyone knows what it is please let me know. The blooms start pink and fade to white.

A few shots of a few different cultivars in bloom. The scent out here is amazing!

This 'Festiva Maxima' bloom is just one of many and they are HUGE this year!

Peony's are the reason I started gardening many moons ago :smt049

What a stunning display, Netty. The peony's in that first pic really do brighten-up a shady place.
I can see why you like them so much.

Gorgeous, absolutely gorgeous Netty. :D Your first peony is only nine years younger than me but it certainly looks a whole lot better than me for its age.

very nice, Netty. I almost skipped over this but I saw 1959 and needed to see what it was. I have one peony and get so aggrivated every Spring when it rains the day before they buds pop open... weighting it down and knocking them over... GRRR!

    I LOVE your peonies!
    They are stunning!
I bet the smell is wonderful!
I have a small bunch of white here but they weigh down so quickly and never last. I would love to get some nice pink ones like those. We only have white or scarlet available around here.

Beautiful, beautiful Peonies! I can just imagine the sweet smell of them. I wished I had room for more of them.

Those made me catch my breathe they are so spectacular. Good job there!

I planted a few roots last year, but they weren't very good quality or size. I hope with time some will be the colors on the package since I love yours so much.

The one Peony I have that has been moved so many times and finally bloomed last year didn't even put out any buds this year. It appears it will be moved again this fall, everything around it has grown like crazy this Spring and it is now in total shade again.
