Oh yeah, it's Sjoerd's birthday! I have a very special birthday song for you:



The singer is our most famo.... eh, infamous lyrical alto. The song is, sorry to say, a commercial. The writing at the end says: Solo - probably the only soft drink that doesn't do anything but quench your thirst. You'll understand when you watch the film.

Thank you all very much. All the well-wishes takes the edge off the realization that I am a year older. hahaha.

Seriously though, I do appreciate your good wishes. We had a long party yesterday that went until about 02.00 hours. I always nibble too much on such occasions, but it was fun with family and friends. Wish you guys could have been here.

This morning I have a lot of dishes and so forth to wash before I can go to the lottie, so I had better get to it.

Oh, I wanted to say that a couple of folks brought flowers and you can see them on the salon table in the picture above. The big, red Amaryllis is one that I kept over from last winter. It is just opening now.

Happy Birthday (a day late, but heartfelt). The party sounds as if you enjoyed it, but since when does the birthday boy have to do the dishes? Here in Texas we use paper plates!

Thank you so much, 2OF--I really did enjoy myself. We provided wave after wave of food and drinks for the guests. There was sweet, there was salty and there was warm and there were cold choices. It is the same small group of close folks every year. I always do think of you guys on here and how nice it would be if you were in the city on my BD---man, would we ever par-TAY!....You have to be able to eat your share though. hahaha.

Hey there MARLING--The birthday boy ALWAYS does the dishes. --She cooks and I wash the dishes...be it a regular meal or a do. Our chores are split 50-50 (even the garden work). This works for us.
I must say that paper plates sound like a good idea, but on the other hand with these special little plates and silverware that we have...if I didn't use them on such an occasion, they would never be used. That would be a shame. The silverware belonged to my mother so it's a sort of an "in honour" type of situation. You know how it goes.
