....on the calender anyway. But the plant and seed catalogs for fall ordering and planting have started arriving.

I received catalogs from Michigan Bulb and Springhill Nursery today. I haven't started making a list yet but Springhill has way too many drop-dead gorgeous Iris varieties calling out to me, I am not sure I can resist much longer.

    I am in big trouble!!!

I've received only one autumn catalogue so far, and nothing much tempting in there either. :D I'm sort of happy since we haven't got much room for more.

So far, I haven't received any catalogues but I've been getting numerous e.mails from gardening companies. I've deleted them all as I really don't want to be tempted this early in the year.

Oh my, Toni...so it's started then has it.
Catalogues are one of the sweetest of the little tortures aren't they?

Nothing wrong with being prepared, though...right. ;)

That's my story, and I'm sticking with it.

I am going to be asking some questions about Fall planting and "overwintering." I have heard you guys use this term .... Looking forward to seeing and hearing about what you're all doing and learning from you!

I am trying not to look at them...I have an order coming this fall for 3 red Japanese Iris..my purple iris haven't bloomed this summer yet that I planted last year. I am a little disappointed but maybe they need more sun.. Good Luck in not spending too much...I hate that when they want to tell you about other specials if you phone them...I don't need any more help in spending money...

I have received an array of catalogues from veggie seed companies offering the overwintering onions, shallots and garlic and also young veggie plants that you get in the ground now for a late winter crop. There are also veggie seeds that you sow now that will stand through the winter, or will grow so quickly, you should be harvesting before the worst of the weather arrives. It is tempting, and as usual, I really can't justify spending any more money on the garden, but I do manage to make a few lists, and trim it down and down. So much temptation - tis an addiction I tell ya!

I've planted my fall crop of beets, Chinese Cabbage, Four Seasons Lettuce. I sure would like to try those cukes that will grow in greenhouse. I have a plant out in the garden that had a fruit under lights in the house and has been producing ever since, even though it's pitiful looking. Wonder if that one would work.
