Got the tree in the house and it's now decorated. Didn't have to put lights on it. We leave the lights on when we put it away for the year. Did have one strand that was out. Replaced it with the kind that if one bulb goes our, the rest stay on. This is the earliest we have ever put the tree up. Usually we wait until about the 15th. This morning the cat was setting off from the tree and looking at it. He hasn't tried to climb it or anything. He has never bothered it.

    Oh yes Capt, piccies please!
My cat is a nightmare at Christmas time...she climbs the tree to knock off the balls. 2 years ago she knocked the tree over 3 times. Last year I got smart and cut her nails short. I think I'd better do that again...

No tree here for another three weeks. Day before Christmas eve is our tradition.

Netty, we tie the top of the tree to a hook in the ceiling. We've learnt from previous experience. :D

The only reason ours is up, it's rainy and foggy and someone got bored!

It's not a pic of the tree, but a pic of the front of the house with the garland, bows etc.

How festive Capt! I seem to be having a hard time getting into the festive mood, even with all the snow we have gotten.
My tree doesn't usually go up until about the 22nd, but I usually like to decorate the house around Dec. 1st.

I normally decorate the outside on the Fri. after Thanksgiving while the wife is out shopping. That way I don't have to go shopping! But we had some nice warm weather the week before, so I got it done then. And I still didn't have to go shopping! Neither did she for that matter. She had to work that day!

Ah I see what you mean Captain Kirk

It is beautiful and so festive - putting one right in the mood for Christmas. If I dare to do something like that here, I will probably wake up the next mornign to find it all stolen. (Living in the city :'( )
Strange enough some residents here in my neigbourhood have seemed to overcome the problem by decorating their houses on the inside and opening their curtains so it can be viewed from outside.
But they only start with their decorations after the 15th of December.
