I've just entered a great contest: http://www.driventoquit.ca/english/home I've quit since last Sunday (Feb 22) and now I have a chance to win a car
how great is that! Well done on quitting I know you can do it. I am fighting the tobacco demons at the moment as my chest is bad I have recently been diagnosed with COPD and I am young for that, my own fault though as I smoke with asthma, We will all be behind you I am sure.
Congratulations and good luck Netty, you can do it. Everytime you would have bought a carton of smokes, use that money to treat yourself to something special...and that's going to add up to a lot more money than you thought. I was thinking the other night of what I am going to buy myself for my 5th anniversary in late July. Won't be a car, that's for sure. I think I am going to order one of each size and length of knitting needle that I don't already have
Netty I'm behind you all the way!!! :-D I will be fighting my own battle. I need to lose 28 pounds. Actually I need to lose A LOT MORE THAN THAT but 28 will get me down to that nasty number I never wanted to get up to! You root for me and I will root for you!! We can do it!!! Deanna :-D
Thanks for the support. I'm feeling really good about this. I always knew that you really had to WANT to quit to be successful and maybe that is why I'm doing so well. All I have to do is think about my kids...the are great motivation! I'm still thinking about what I should buy myself for a reward Playtime - being diagnosed with COPD should be your motivation to quit. There's never a better time to quit! Congrats Toni on 5 years! Way to go! Critterpainter, I'm rooting for you!!!
good for you netty! you can do it! it was 7 years for me last January. i had a hard time, but did it...now to get rid of this weight i gained!!! sending you lots of support vibes!
Well done Netty for even considering giving up smoking. I'm sure you'll do it and I really hope you'll win the car too.
We never know what we can do until we put it to the test. I tried 4 different times to quit smoking and finally did - that was 15 years ago! So the word is "Never give up!" It's worth the effort.
I wish I got a car when I quit. I quit July 10, 2007. They raised the cig tax again and I said "That's it." I am one of the few people that quit smoking as a political protest. I still like a good cigar but only once or twice a year. Hey, I can't be perfect.
Netty, I am rooting for you. I know you can do it and I do hope you win the car. Wouldn't that be a hoot? Congratulations to all of you that have already quit and fingers crossed for all the others that need and want to quit. I have never smoked so I don't know how difficult it is. I only hope they keep raising the price of cigs, so that maybe my son and daughter will have to quit. Now if I would just eat right, maybe I could loose a bunch of weight. But it is SO hard to cook for just one person, so I just junk out!!
I support you 100%....I am wishing you all the luck in the world. It would be great to win a car, but winning extra years of life is an even greater prize for you ...and for those near and dear to you.
