Absent without leave for the last two days!! Let me explain. My husband, Ian got a phone call at 6.30am on Tuesday morning saying that a colleague of his had taken ill and that he was needed to travel to the Isle of Skye to do the work in his place. He asked if I wanted to go along with him soooo ........ you've guessed it I dropped everything, tossed a few essentials into a bag and we set off at 7.15am. We had to make a few stops on the way as there were telephone exchanges to be visited but, all in all, it was a very pleasant trip and the sun shone for us. The B&B was already booked, a double room thankfully, so I didn't have to try and find accomodation for myself when we got to the island. Ian spent this morning visiting a radio station so it gave me some time to go birdwatching and catch up on some of my own paperwork. I've taken a few photographs for you all to see and will try to post them tomorrow if I can catch up on the rest of my own work. Sorry I wasn't able to let you know I was going to disappear but I had no time spare time to post a message as we were in such a rush to get away before the heavy rush hour traffic.
I noticed you were missing Eils, in fact I was just about to PM you to make sure everything was ok. Glad to hear that you had a good time. Please say you have some birdie pics for us?!
I noticed you were unusually quiet but thought you were working hard. Wonderful that you got to take an impromtu trip with Ian and had a good time on this one...no hard wind blowing this time?
No, thank goodness Toni!!! We did encounter the scurge of the Highlands though - the midge - actually swarms of the little devils!!! They're so tiny but boy can they bite and oh the itch afterwards is almost unbearable!!!!
South Florida has some of those called 'no seeums' cause they are so tiny you can't see them, but you can sure remember them for days after when you are trying to find relief from the itch.
