At least I feel like I'm in a fog. We got home a few hours ago, and have been on the road for four weeks. I think we had a lovely time but need to digest a bit first. It's nice to be home and very nice to log onto the Stew again. We started our holiday here, only four hours away from home: Briksdalsbreen - the Briksdal glacier ( photo / image / picture from Droopy's Garden ) Our final goal was the land of the windmills: Nice, old Dutch windmill ( photo / image / picture from Droopy's Garden ) I've sat on Sjoerd's lovely, new garden bench, got to inspect his little lottie house, the insect hotel and all the beautiful flowers and loads of veggies. (I'm sorry we ate them Sjoerd. You've still got more coming, though.) Thanks to both you and the missus for making our stay so very special! Please don't expect much from me for the first week or two. The weeds are taller than the flowers, the house plants need intensive care, and we've got a camper car to clean. Some of our blooms looked good, though. This is the Walls of Jericho part 1-border: Welcome-home-blooms ( photo / image / picture from Droopy's Garden ) The forums have 3016 new posts, and I'll never get through them. Please tell me if anything significant has happened in your lifes. I don't like to miss out.
Hey Droopy, welcome back home and back to the Stew. Missed you, but I am willing to bet that you really didn't miss us with all the beautiful countryside to see and Sjoerd and his missus to visit with.
Droopy, so glad you are back, and that you had such a wonderful vacation (and visit with Sjoerd and wife). Nothing exciting happening here except Queen Elizabeth abdicated and named me as her successor. As soon as we get a chicken coop installed in Buckingham Palace, I'm off to see my loyal subjects. My questions about what to wear to a coronation accounts for 3,000 of the new posts.
Thanks, all. Actually, toni, I DID miss you now and then, believe it or not. Your Majesty, I'm so glad I didn't miss much. We visited five countries, had rain almost every day for four weeks and had a lot of fun despite the weather. We're from the north-west coast of Norway, which is the very place on Earth that God created last. When he looked at his creation, he said: "This is the loveliest of all my landscapes. Let's clean it every day."
Well, back home again...all in one piece, I hope. ;-) It was a thrill having you here.Your trips are always too short. hahaha. Glad that you guys had fun though...I know we sure did.
Welcome home Droopy. It seems much longer than four weeks you've been away - I guess that means that I really missed you. I think your Walls of Jericho border looks smashing and has filled out so well. Such a pity that you had rain for most of the time you were away - we've had constant rain here in Scotland too. Maybe summer with grace us with her presence before autumn sets in. I've almost forgotten what sunshine looks like. So glad you enjoyed your visit with Sjoerd and his wife - they are a very special couple aren't they?
Droopy, I am so glad you are back. I was just wondering about you the other day.... We are so glad to hear you had a great vacation. That isn't something I ever do. Maybe someday, but not right now.
Thanks carolyn and Netty. eileen, they most definitely are! The Jericho borders are beginning to look good. The white cloud of Crambe cordifolia blooms does a lot visually. Yes, Sjoerd, we're all in one piece but I think we will need some time to settle in. I woke up this morning, and the first thought in my mind was "How far is the sanitary building - do I need to use the camper's toilet?"
Welcome back Droopy. Glad you are Sjoerd were able to cross paths, that's so cool! Did you have any strawberries?
From Sjoerd? No. He had eaten them all before we got there, probably due to earlier experience. But we found some nice ones at the Floriade, and Sjoerd and missus helped us eat them.
