I know the label says Christmas Cactus but even getting the proper amount of dark and light hours my 3 small plants didn't start setting buds until earlier this month.
This is the first one to open.

Very nice Toni, good results so far for small plants, they usually stay in flower for weeks if they are happy.Beautiful colour too, maybe they are only supposed to grow on the other side of the world from you, they do bloom at Christmas here.

That's a lovely color. I've been meaning to get a couple of those. Maybe this year is the year!

My Schlumbergera or Zygocactus have been flowering for a couple of weeks now and they certainly cheer me up as nothing else is in bloom at the moment. Yours is a lovely colour Toni.

What a lovely thing that is, Toni. I hope that it will bloom for a longtime for you.
I quite like that colour pattern.

A pretty color. My Thanksgiving cactus flowered in October when we were on vacation in Hawaii. I brought it to a neighbor's house so she could enjoy the plant while we were away. The other side of the plant is now flowering. The plant was given to us over 30 years ago. Flowering seems more temperature driven than exposure to light.

The bloom is now fully open so I just had to take another photo of it.

The next bud to open appears to be a red and later will be followed by several whites and maybe another pink.

I just love those flowers, do you mean there are red and white flowers on the same plant or do you have other plants which produce those colours, or there several plants in same pot?
I will look forward to seeing the white one.

I bought three mini pots with no indication of what color(s) they would be and as it turns out I have white, red and pink...the white may turn out to be pale yellow or another pink one really can't tell accurately from the tight bud.

There are three stems in the pot with the red bud and in the one I think will be white, but the pink pot only has two. I haven't really wanted to repot them I have heard that they love to be crowded in their planter and that must be true, these are growing like crazy....and I am afraid I will damage or stunt them like I did some I had a couple of years ago.

They are getting large enough that I think they do need to be repotted after blooming. One mistake I made on others I have had is repotting them to a pot too large. I plant on looking around for some cute small pots at forays through thrift stores for these babies.

This is the second bloom to open, same color as the first but on the other stem in the pot. The next bud getting ready to open is a white one on another plant.
