You have a storm front headed for you. It stretches from Louisiana to New England and is moving really slow. We got 1 1/4 inches of rain out of it here. It's in mid -PA now.

I see it Captain, we will batten down the hatches. I guess I should unearth the rain gauge.

Well we had more showers here overnight. We got another 1/4 inch of rain. We are now at 2.2 inches for the month.

Fortunately, I'm on a big hill, but the valley below us is all farmfield and has standing water in it.
    Rice...? maybe, this year.

And to top things off, they have a frost warning up for Thurs. morning. Frost free date for us is May 15th. Last year I set my maters out on May 1 st.

The rain is taking a long time to get here, slowly sliding eastward. The rain gauge is set Captain. Our last frost date is May 19 at 10%, 50% point is today. Living on the side of a hill April is usually the last time I see frost.

I tried to grow rice once as an experiment, it did not work :( Perhaps I should try again. :)

As we type we are wet. Dogs, cats and sundry animals falling from the sky. The bird bath is now full. I am spending the day on the covered deck planting seeds in pots.

    Hey Captain!!

The rain gauge measured .62 inches but that did not stop me from starting seeds today.

We have more rain scheduled for today, late. But they say only about 1/10 th of an inch. Then rain all through the first part of next week.
