We will host a very small group of family members for chatting, coffee + tea with the traditional oliebollen, powdered sugar, a host of snacks and poker. Then watch the firework show in the harbour below. In preparation I went to our favourite oliebol tent to pick up the oliebollen and appelflappen. so, I got there just as the last olibollen was sold, so the lady told me it would be a quarter of an hour. Nothing for it but to hang around shifting from one foot to the other…waiting and waiting. The queue began to lengthen noticeably. Here is what it looks like down at the kerkplein: The oliebollen will look like this on the counter tonight and folks can just take when they are moved: My Bride and I wish you one and all everything good in 2025. “Maak er wat moois van”, as we say. p.s. I have to admit my Bride and I had to do a test once I got home. They were especially delish and fresh !
